Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards•S.
Standard II states that teachers should use technology to create learning materials that help students achieve the ISTE Standards for students (International Society for Technology in Education, 2007). These standards include:
The student standards should be met by using a variety of assessments and materials, so all learning styles, working strategies, and technological needs are met. To determine the technological needs of the students a Google Form was created. From this form I can determine what technology resources students have access to and what types they are familiar with. After looking over the results of the survey I can alter my materials presentation and assessment strategies accordingly. By using Google Docs and Slides to present lesson materials, students do not have to purchase any expensive software to view the materials. By creating digital quizzes with in the website, an interactive video, and a Quizizz quiz, I can track how they are doing and make corrections before the final exam is given. The Quizizz and Edupuzzle interactive video let students quiz themselves and offer immediate feedback so they too can see where they stand. This gets them involved in there own learning process. The PowerPoint assignment give my students the opportunity to express their own creativity and the chance to pursue their own curiosities. The Quizziz and Edupuzzle links may be found below, as well as the rubric for the presentation and the Google documents. You will also find a link to the quiz built into the website. My learning goal for Standard II is to learn how to inspire students to be active participants in setting their educational goals, and to inspire creativity when they are working on projects.
