Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.
Standard V states that educators should constantly be educating themselves on the latest technologies and methodologies by participating in local and global learning communities. They should reflect on those technologies to make effective use of them. By exploring new technologies and reflecting on the use of those technologies they contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community. Taking IT 645 has allowed me to engage with the local learning community and to discover new technologies that I can use to support student learning. Through out IT 645 I have kept a blog reflecting on all the new ideas and technologies that were discussed in the course. Creating my Introduction to Hemostasis Website allowed me to apply those new ideas and technologies. My learning goal for Standard V is to continue my education and never stop learning new and innovative techniques to enhance the learning experience of my students.
